2019 National Title Winners!

Major Productions Studio of Dance (located in Ellenton, FL inside the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex) is excited to announce that we are the 2019 NATIONAL TITLE WINNERS for the 11 and under productions for Fusion Dance Competition! Our routine entitled, A Day At The Park, received the following placements during our trip to Daytona, FL June 18 - 22. Platinum, 1st Overall, the Choreography Award, as well as crowned the national champions! A Day At The Park, met the challenge head on with another dance studio from Georgia. MPSD beat their routine entitled, The Wizards of AHHHHHS, both in the prelim section as well as in the finals.

A Day At The Park started as an idea over a year ago by owner/director of Major Productions Studio of Dance, Tracy Stratman. Miss Tracy along with her co-instructor, Elaynne Speckman spent many hours bringing this vision to life on the stage. A Day A The Park is a routine that follows 2 tourists around Magic Kingdom. 23 dancers (ages 4 - 18 years old), 8 minutes of choreography, 50 costumes, 4 backdrops, and an unknown number of smaller props were used to create a realistic vision to the audience.

“Being our first production routine ever for Major Productions Studio of Dance, there was a definite learning curve for everyone. After a lot of hard work, we were able to create a routine that truly encompassed the full storyline to immerse the audience into A Day At The Park.” said Miss Tracy. She also added, “Both Miss Elaynne and I are so proud of each and every one of the dancers who were a part of this piece. The added work and rehearsals were all worth it in the end when it all came together on stage!”

A Day At The Park was not the only routine that Major Productions Studio of Dance took to nationals in Daytona, FL. A total of 21 routines were entered into the competition. 3 other dances were also invited into the final challenge! “I am so happy with how all of our dancers have performed during the Fusion Dance Competition. We had many dances place higher than they have all season. The progressions all 34 dancers on both the competition team and the 2 hip hop teams have been nothing short of amazing this year!” said Miss Tracy

The other 3 dances who were invited to perform again in the final challenge also placed very high. The Nostalgic 90’s (Sr. Hip Hop Team choreographed by Josh Brammer) placed 2nd in the nation! Wake Me Up (Contemporary Duet choreographed by Sarah Joshson) placed 3rd in the nation. And finally, We, the Drowned (Contemporary trio choreographed by Breand Jones) placed 5th in the nation. Along with other numerous adjudicated placements, overall placements, and judges awards, all the dancers, staff and parents of MPSD could not have been happier.
